Crew hourly rate calculator
What hourly crew rate covers the paid roster and allocated monthly costs?
One two-person crew, representing half the two-crew company's matched paid labor and cost allocation. Whole-company billable cleaner hours must not be used as this crew's elapsed-hour denominator.
This is one of two equal two-person crews. Each cleaner has 173.2 paid hours and 123.405 productive hours per month at the mature workload. The $21 blended cleaner wage and effective burden cover cleaner wages and benefits. Overhead is half the company's paid owner labor, nonpayroll operating costs, supplies and processing/employer-tip allowances projected at the authored $251.27 job quote. Dividing the crew price by 1.9 elapsed hours per visit gives the matching crew hourly rate. All allocations are assumptions derived from the operating ledger.
Count people who work together. Paid owner management belongs in overhead unless the owner is part of this field crew.
All paid time for one member of this crew, including nonbillable time.
Positive productive time within paid time. Since the crew works together, this is also elapsed billable crew-hours.
Use gross wages before employer burden. For mixed roles, use a documented weighted wage.
Additional employer costs divided by gross wages. Include relevant taxes, insurance and benefits once. No statutory rate is supplied.
Include this crew's supplies, vehicle, management and other cost allocation once; exclude crew labor entered above.
Must be below 100%. Completeness of the entered cost basis determines what this surplus covers. This is a margin on sales, not a markup on cost.

Formula and interpretation
Monthly crew labor = crew size × paid hours per worker × wage × (1 + employer burden)
Required monthly revenue = (crew labor + other monthly costs) ÷ (1 − target surplus share)
Crew hourly rate = required revenue ÷ billable elapsed crew-hours
The crew works together, so one person's billable time is the elapsed crew-hour denominator. Total cleaner-hours multiply that time by crew size.
Paid nonbillable time remains in labor cost. A lower billable share increases the rate needed to cover the same paid roster.
